Through early-stage modelling, passive design integration, and close consultant coordination, we achieved 15% improvement in services efficiency across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

The mental health-focused nature of the facility required sensitive spatial planning and occupant comfort, which we supported through daylighting optimisation, thermal zoning, and high indoor air quality benchmarks. The project also involved performance modelling to inform both capital and operational decisions.

FCDS was engaged to provide Section J compliance review and sustainability input for the redevelopment of Laverton Hospital, a key regional health facility in Western Australia. This upgrade project focuses on modernising infrastructure to support improved patient care and operational efficiency in rural healthcare delivery.

Our team provided a comprehensive Section J assessment, ensuring thermal performance and energy efficiency in alignment with NCC 2019 standards. Despite design constraints often encountered in remote healthcare facilities, our recommendations supported improved passive design and reduced energy loads for long-term operational savings.

 FCDS played a pivotal role in delivering Section J compliance and energy performance enhancements for the Casuarina Prison Tranche 2 expansion. This justice infrastructure project presented unique challenges due to security and operational requirements, but Full Circle successfully delivered a Section J outcome that exceeded minimum BCA requirements by 10%, a notable achievement for a correctional facility where energy efficiency is often deprioritised.

Our team worked closely with consultants to improve glazing, insulation, and services coordination to enhance building envelope performance and optimise conditioned zones. The design outcome reflects a pragmatic yet sustainability-focused approach to public sector compliance.

The WA Government is delivering a landmark health infrastructure project with the development of a world-class Women and Babies Hospital within the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct. The project will replace the ageing King Edward Memorial Hospital and expand critical care services for women, newborns and families across Western Australia.

FCDS was engaged during the early planning stages to provide ESD feasibility analysis and establish an ESD performance benchmark for the hospital. Our role focused on identifying sustainability opportunities across passive design, energy efficiency, water conservation and precinct-wide synergies, ensuring the project sets a robust foundation for future sustainable outcomes.

The Kinross Care Community is a state-of-the-art aged care facility developed by Amana Living in Perth’s northern suburbs. Designed by T&Z Architects, the facility offers a 96-bed residential care centre and a day club known as “The Lake House.” The project was completed in May 2023, with a construction value of $32 million.
